Overview

This full-day tour joins the east and the west of Salalah. In the east, the ancient ruins of Sumharam (Khor Rohri) stand on the Incense Route, which linked the region with the Roman Empire, India and Asia. Mirbat, the ancient capital of the region of Dhofar, is where the frankincense trail begins.

In the west, a road winds up a steep incline into the Qara Mountains, a mix of forest and desert where you may see herds of camels and cattle. It leads to the tomb of the Prophet Job, the beach of Mughsail and Oman's western border.
